Ranesa Shipman

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new principal of Scales Elementary School. It is an honor to join Murfreesboro City Schools, a school district renowned for excellence, but more importantly for its commitment to children. I have been working in the education field for over 12 years in both the classroom and the administration, but I consider my most important responsibility to be as an advocate for children.

The time spent with your child and getting to know their personalities, learning styles, and interests are one of the most important things to me. No matter how small or large their accomplishments are, I will celebrate them. No matter how small or large their accomplishments are, I will celebrate them.

I am committed to caring for our students every day while providing them with a learning environment that is meaningful for them. This would not be possible without those hard-working, highly qualified, and effective instructional leaders at Scales who put their hearts and souls into their work. This is an honor for me as someone who is passionate about education, and I look forward to partnering with you so that our students will receive rich, relevant, and engaging educational experiences.

It is an honor to be a part of the Scales Superstar community and serve as an assistant principal.

My previous 13 years of experience in education started at La Vergne Middle School as a teacher and dean of students, La Vergne High School as a teacher and dean of students, Riverdale High School as an assistant principal, and John Pittard Elementary as an academic coach. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Ecology, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership. As an educational leader at Scales Elementary School, I strive to focus on building relationships with the school community while guiding emphasis on the whole child in building success and achievement. As a servant leader I genuinely love supporting students, teachers, and the community to ensure a safe and effective environment.

My husband and I have two amazing sons. Spending time with our families is a core value in our home. We also enjoy weekends at the lake, traveling, and outside activities. I look forward to supporting the Scales community and continuing to build relationships with our Superstars.
